Award-winning, people-first initiatives at the heart of Maxicare

Modern technology and well-designed policies help support an organization, but true progress is only realized when its workforce drives that transformation. At the heart of every success at Maxicare Group, a committed HR team actively supports and guides each team member along their career path.

“Our goal is to create an environment where our people can experience greater role clarity, strengthened leadership, and collaboration,” Maxicare Group’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Beng Cortes shared. “We want to build a workplace where, no matter how much we grow, our people can always feel supported and connected throughout every change,”.

This vision has recently taken center stage as Maxicare’s HR team took home the Silver Award for Excellence in Business Transformation and became a Finalist for Excellence in Employee Engagement at the HR Excellence Awards 2026. This success was directly driven by their people-first initiatives, including Project AORTA (Accelerated Organization Review, Transformation, and Agility), which strengthened organizational resilience, and employee engagement programs that contributed to Great Place to Work certifications of the Maxicare Group.

Through this recognition, Maxicare’s HR team echoes their philosophy of building a culture that prioritizes its people and consistently strives to create lasting change that’s felt across the group.

“This recognition reflects the collective effort of our leaders, employees, and HR teams across the Group. It affirms the value of listening to our people and working together to create meaningful and sustainable change,” says Ms. Cortes. “More importantly, it inspires us to stay true to who we are, guided by our culture mantra: Care Deeply. Act Boldly. Deliver Together.

With this continued success, the HR team aims to create more opportunities for employees and healthcare professionals across the Maxicare network nationwide to learn, grow, and take on greater responsibilities. More than standalone projects, these initiatives reflect a long-term commitment to helping Maxicare’s people navigate change, strengthen their capabilities, and remain equipped for both today’s demands and tomorrow’s opportunities.
