With medical plan costs in the Philippines projected to record another double-digit increase in 2026, Maxicare Group brought healthcare and financial protection closer together through the rebranding of MaxiLife as Maxicare Insurance.
The change strengthens Maxicare’s transformation from a traditional health maintenance organization into a broader healthcare group integrating health plans, clinic services, and insurance. Through this ecosystem, Maxicare aims to make preventive care, medical services, and financial protection easier to understand and access for every Filipino nationwide.
The transition to Maxicare Insurance follows regulatory approval from the Insurance Commission and formally aligns the insurance business with the wider Maxicare Group. Rather than operating as an isolated business, Maxicare Insurance will complement the Group’s healthcare plans and nationwide network of 51 Maxicare Clinics.
“This rebrand is more than a change in name. As part of one unified Maxicare Group, Maxicare Insurance extends the care we provide beyond health plans and clinic access to include financial protection for life’s unexpected moments. This allows us to support Filipinos more fully throughout their healthcare and protection journey,” said Glanvill Marquez, Chief Executive Officer of Maxicare Insurance.
Making protection easier to access
For many Filipinos, healthcare and financial protection remain separate and often complicated decisions. Maxicare Group’s integrated model is designed to address this fragmentation by connecting preventive care and clinical services with protection against critical illness, accidents, disability, and death.
Central to Maxicare Insurance’s portfolio is the Ease Series, a suite of annually renewable health and life insurance products offering targeted protection at accessible price points.
HealthEase provides critical illness and death coverage of up to ₱250,000, with premiums starting at ₱488 annually, while LifeEase offers up to ₱250,000 in life, accident, and disability protection, starting at ₱388 annually.
ProtectEase provides accident coverage of up to ₱250,000 for workers whose jobs keep them on the move, with premiums starting at ₱388 annually. ProtectEase Professional offers enhanced coverage for gig workers, self-employed professionals, and individuals in higher-risk occupations, starting at ₱398 annually.
These products provide additional protection for Filipinos whenever they need it, especially those who may have limited or no access to employer-sponsored insurance.
Extending care beyond insurance coverage
The rebranding comes as Maxicare Insurance enters its fourth year of operations. Its alignment with Maxicare Group connects the insurance business to the Group’s broader healthcare network, which includes over 1,100 affiliated hospitals and clinics, 749 affiliated dental clinics, and 22,400 partner physicians nationwide.
This gives members multiple points of access to consultations, laboratory tests, diagnostics, specialist care, and other medical services. Maxicare Insurance extends that support by providing financial protection for unexpected health and life events.
Together, the Group’s healthcare plans, clinics, and insurance products are designed to support Filipinos through different stages of their health journey, from seeking preventive care to preparing for more serious financial risks.
“For our members, this means being supported by one organization that understands both their healthcare and protection needs,” said Marquez. “By bringing these services closer together, we can make it easier for more Filipinos to seek care early and prepare for unexpected events without having to navigate multiple providers.”
