Four months into the year, we all know the dreaded question: kumusta ang fitness goals mo? It’s often met with an awkward laugh or silence. Not because you aren’t trying, sometimes you’re just not confident with what you’ve achieved so far compared to others.
That mindset is what Southstar Drug’s Run for Wellness 2026 would like to change. For 15 years now, Run for Wellness has been a community open for everyone, regardless of their fitness level. Maxicare Group, the Philippines’ leading HMO and an advocate of overall health and wellness, joined as a major sponsor of the run held last April 26 at the University of the Philippines-Diliman in Quezon City.
Run for fun, run for health
The event drew over 10,000 participants, ranging from professional athletes to families enjoying a walk. After earning 3K, 5K, or 10K medals, runners visited the race village for activities and freebies.
The Maxicare booth offered recovery treats and giveaways like tote bags and speakers. Runners also enjoyed snacks such as adobo pandesal, champorado, lugaw, and turon, with a choice of taho or sorbetes.

The race’s top finishers also got a special treat from Maxicare – a year’s worth of healthcare with the PRIMA prepaid cards. The third and second placers brought home a PRIMA Access, and the top placers received a PRIMA Elite.
At the end of the day, several milestones were achieved: personal records were surpassed, first runs were completed, new friends were made, and everyone became a step closer to achieving their personal health goals.
