
Maxicare Group was part of some major highlights at the recently held People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Annual Conference. The leading HMO company in the country was a mega sponsor at the three-day event held last October 22-24 at the NUSTAR Resort & Casino in Cebu City, where more than a thousand HR leaders, executives, and practitioners nationwide gathered to exchange company culture ideas, share best practices, and celebrate innovations in people management.
Participants also enjoyed the engaging activities, where company booths, including the Maxicare Group’s, offered interactive games and giveaways. HR professionals and other participants also socialized and built camaraderie during the evening gathering.

This year’s theme, Unleash, focused on three core actions: Enrich, adding value to individuals through continuous skills and values development; Enable, providing tools and systems that drive purposeful and efficient work; and Empower, granting authority and confidence to make decisions and take control of outcomes.
Aligned with the theme and among the conference’s highlights, Maxicare Group Chief HR Officer Mr. Joe Buot presented in the Concurrent Session (CS15) titled People at the Core, Business at Scale: Maxicare Group’s Turnaround Story.

In his presentation, Mr. Buot shared how the Maxicare Group’s transformation journey was anchored on empowerment, seamlessly integrating health plans, clinic management, and insurance under a shared purpose and culture. The talk concluded with key takeaways on how empowerment can drive transformation at scale, making Maxicare Group a model of people-led recovery and sustainable success.
